Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev secured his first trophy for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid season, achieving just one win at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with former coach Cervara.

Presently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.

This represents his maiden title following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court from spring of that year.

Success also signifies Medvedev has won twenty-one victories at 21 different competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my both daughters together, so to get a title is really nice," said ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, including in the German tournament previously this season.

His counter-punching strategy and frequent emotional displays on court had prompted observers to question if his capacity to compete at the top level was finished.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and play positively, backed up by an improved serving game.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the last five points to go ahead.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first tour title, took control to force a decider.

He rescued four early break points in a tight deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.

Suitably, he secured the win with a shot at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
